Latino Organization of the Southwest seeks funding from the Washington Square Health Foundation and Others to Jumpstart the PSEM Program

The Latino Organization of the Southwest is in the midst of developing the Proyecto Salud Emocional del Migrante (PSEM) counseling program, which in English means the Migrant Emotional Health Project.

Through PSEM, LOS will be providing free counseling services to uninsured and underinsured Latinos throughout the Southwest Side of Chicago and the surrounding areas. LOS has always been committed to the empowerment of our communities, and therefore LOS hopes to offer family counseling, drug and alcohol addictions counseling, and domestic violence counseling to immigrants who otherwise would not be able to afford quality counseling services.

LOS is currently recruiting an advisory board for this project, so if you or your colleagues would be interested in being a part of this advisory board, please send an introductory email and resume to Padraic Stanley, Youth Development Coordinator at stanley.padraic@gmail.com.

In pursuing funding for the program, LOS has submitted an application to the Washington Square Health Foundation, for which the Principles for Community Health Care Report can be downloaded here.
